1 note
I’m a city girl. When I go on trips, I prefer to go to cities and just be there - sit in cafes, walk around and people watch, and wander in and out of stores. It’s not that I dislike nature, it’s just that mountains, trees, and lakes just sit there looking nice. They don’t move around much. You can climb them, or swim in them, but once that is done I’m looking for a bar where I can sneak glances at nice-looking people who also talk, and laugh, and dance.
That said, I have an incredible weakness for farms and barns, and this weekend was awesome for that. First there was a reception at an adorable farm in Taylors Falls, and then we visited my friend Amanda’s working farm just over the border in Wisconsin. We had brunch (with some of the best bacon EVER), we looked at the cows, then we drove to the other part of the farm where we picked strawberries and lettuce and even found a small litter of the tiniest tiny kittens. (The video is really dark, but it’s us cooing over kittens and then laughing as the mother decides we’re more entertaining than her babies.)
Do I want to live there? Probably not. Do I want to visit often? Yes. Am I regretting not visiting more last summer when Amanda was actually there permanently? Definitely.
