Biking to Stillwater
A friend has been trying to get the two of us to bike to Stillwater for a few years. Initially I was incredibly reluctant (too far!), but it finally seemed like a great idea. For those of you who aren’t local, Stillwater is a small city on the St. Croix River, right on the border of Wisconsin. It is about 20 miles east of St. Paul, and 30 miles east of Minneapolis. By bike, the easiest way...

Swimming to Hidden Beach
I’m sort of a memoir nut, so when I heard about Swimming to Antarctica, I knew I had to read it. Lynne Cox is a distance swimmer who is always looking for the next challenge, whether it was swimming the English Channel at 15, swimming across the Bering Strait during the Cold War, or indeed swimming in the waters of the Antarctic Ocean. Cox is inspiring because even though I relate to some of...

Letters To Food →

– The Big Machine, Victor LaVelle I definitely didn’t love this book, but these few lines made it worth reading until the end.

Letters To Food: Dear Eggs, →
Do you ever play that game where you see how long you can put off going to the store? I had every intention of going after work, but I forgot my wallet and who wants to run errands after their run, after their shower? Not me, and probably not you, because you’re an egg. I’m sorry I just ate you,… Oh hey, I made another tumblr yet again. I’ve had this idea in my head for a while,...

Vincent Kartheiser: 'I definitely do psychopathic.... →
I never thought it could be possible, but this interview with the guy who plays Pete Campbell on Mad Men makes him seem ruggedly hot instead of detestably smarmy. To sum up: dude doesn’t even own a toilet. Read it!
